However, the impact is minor in Mass Effect 2. Regardless of the choice you make, there will be an impact in both Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3. The choice comes just after you fought off swarms of rachni too, so Shep knows how dangerous they are. However, keeping the rachni alive risks a violent uprising against other races, as has happened before. ![]() Killing the Rachni Queen is genocide and dooms a sentient species to extinction. This happens in the first game, on Noveria, just after defeating Matriarch Benezia, and it’s a heavy choice for Commander Shepard to make. Mass Effect is a series all about choices, and one of the first major choices you make is on whether or not to save the Rachni Queen. ![]()
